Contract Division · America’s largest custom frame manufacturer
Custom picture frames for hospitality, without a size limit.
Modern Memory Design is America’s largest USA-made custom picture frame manufacturer, building frames in our New Jersey workshop for hotels, restaurants, medical offices and corporate interiors — any size, any profile, any quantity. Through our partnership with Lieberman’s, we can also deliver the artwork already curated, framed and ready to hang.
The contract program
One vendor for the frame, the art and the install schedule
Most framing suppliers sell you a catalog of fixed sizes and leave the sourcing, the packing list and the site coordination to somebody else. We run the whole line: we mill and join the frame to your dimension, print or source the artwork, fit it with the right glazing for a public space, and deliver it labeled by room number so your installer can hang it without opening a spreadsheet.
That matters most on projects where the walls don’t match the catalog — a 14x62 corridor niche, a 40x60 lobby statement piece, a set of 300 guestroom pieces that all need to be identical eighteen months from now when you replace six of them.
Specification by venue
Framing built for the way each space gets used
A hotel corridor, a dining room and an exam room have completely different requirements for glazing, hanging hardware and cleaning. Here is how we spec each one.
Hotels & resorts
Guestroom sets that repeat cleanly across floors, plus oversized lobby and corridor pieces. Acrylic glazing and security hardware standard in guest-accessible areas.
Restaurants & bars
Grease and steam are the enemy. We spec sealed backs, wipeable glazing and finishes that survive a nightly wipe-down behind a banquette.
Medical & dental offices
Waiting rooms, exam rooms and corridors. Shatter-resistant acrylic throughout, sealed for cleaning protocols, plus framed diplomas and credential walls.
Corporate offices
Lobby art, conference rooms, executive floors and employee recognition walls. One moulding spec carried across every floor and every future phase.
Spas & wellness
Humidity is the design constraint. Floating acrylic, sealed float mounts and moisture-tolerant finishes for treatment rooms and locker areas.
Clubs, venues & retail
Shadow boxes for memorabilia and dimensional objects, jersey displays, brand walls and rotating promotional graphics on a reorder schedule.
Art sourcing partner
Curated artwork, delivered framed, through Lieberman’s
Lieberman’s is a wholesale art publisher and distributor serving designers, art consultants and frame shops with trade-priced framed art, canvas and open-edition prints. Working with their catalog means you can select artwork by venue, subject, style or color, and we frame and finish it here before it ships — one purchase order, one delivery, one point of contact.
It also solves the hardest part of a large interior: filling three hundred walls with art that is licensed, consistent and reorderable, instead of hunting down one-off pieces that vanish from the market halfway through the project.

Size schedule
Standard sizes we stock deep — and everything in between
These are the sizes that come up most often on contract work, each with the full range of profiles and finishes available. If your dimension isn’t listed, it isn’t a problem — every frame is cut to order, so an odd size costs the same as a standard one.

How a project runs
From spec sheet to hung wall
Send the schedule
Room-by-room list, a plan set, an FF&E schedule or a photo of the wall. We work from whatever you already have.
Spec and quote
We return sizes, profile options, glazing recommendations by area and a line-item quote, usually within two business days.
Approve a sample
On repeating sets we build one finished piece first. You sign off on the actual frame before we run the rest.
Art selection
Choose from the Lieberman’s catalog, supply your own files for printing, or send existing artwork to us for framing.
Production
Cut, joined, fitted and finished in Hasbrouck Heights. Long runs are staged so phased floors arrive when they’re needed.
Delivery & install
Labeled by room or zone and packed for the site. Local installation across NJ and the NYC metro; crated freight nationwide.
Specification notes
Why commercial framing isn’t residential framing
Glazing is a safety decision
Glass in a guestroom, a corridor or a pediatric waiting room is a liability. Shatter-resistant acrylic weighs roughly half of glass, survives a knock from a housekeeping cart, and won’t create a hazard if a piece comes off the wall. It also cuts freight cost noticeably on a large order.
Hardware has to defeat casual removal
Guest-accessible art needs security hangers or a cleat system, not wire and a hook. We fit hardware to the wall type — drywall, plaster, block or millwork — and note it on the packing list so the installer isn’t guessing on site.
Repeatability beats the initial order
The real test of a contract framing vendor arrives two years later when six pieces need replacing. We keep your moulding, mat and glazing spec on file, so a reorder matches the original run instead of arriving in a slightly different black.
Cleaning protocols shape the build
Restaurants wipe daily; medical facilities disinfect. Sealed backs and the right glazing keep moisture and cleaning agents out of the package, which is what actually determines whether the artwork looks acceptable in year three.

Common questions
Contract framing FAQ
Is there a size limit on custom frames?
No fixed ceiling. Every frame is cut to order rather than pulled from a standard-size inventory, so an unusual dimension costs the same as a common one. We regularly produce frames past 48x72 for lobby and atrium installations; very large pieces are quoted individually because moulding length, glazing weight and freight all factor into the build.
Is there a minimum order for a hospitality project?
No. We’ll build a single prototype so you can approve the finish before committing, and we run full-property orders in the hundreds. Volume pricing starts applying on quantity regardless of whether the pieces are all the same size.
Can you supply the artwork as well as the frames?
Yes. Through our partnership with Lieberman’s we can source curated, licensed artwork by venue, subject, style or color, then print, frame and finish it here before it ships. You can also send your own files for large-format printing, or ship existing artwork to us for framing.
What glazing do you recommend for guest-accessible areas?
Shatter-resistant acrylic in almost every case. It removes the breakage hazard, weighs about half what glass does, and reduces freight cost on large orders. We specify non-glare acrylic where corridor lighting causes reflections and UV-filtering glazing in daylit lobbies.
Do you ship nationwide?
Yes. We’re based in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey and ship across the United States, with crated freight for oversized pieces. Installation is available directly in northern New Jersey and the New York City metro area; elsewhere we deliver labeled and packed for your installer.
Can you match a frame we already have on site?
Usually. Send a photo with a tape measure in frame, or ship us a sample piece. We’ll match the profile, width and finish as closely as the available moulding allows and confirm with a physical sample before production.
How long does a large order take?
Typical contract runs ship in two to four weeks after sample approval, depending on quantity, size and whether artwork needs printing or sourcing. Phased projects are staged to your install schedule so floors arrive as they’re ready for hanging. Rush timelines are available.
Can we reorder matching pieces later?
Yes — we keep your moulding, mat and glazing specification on file so replacements match the original run. This is the main reason properties standardize on one framing vendor rather than rebuying from whoever is cheapest that quarter.
