Antique & Vintage Upholstery Restoration
Antique sofas, chairs and settees deserve traditional craftsmanship. At our Hasbrouck Heights, NJ workshop we restore Victorian, Louis XV and XVI, Queen Anne, Chippendale, Art Deco and mid-century modern pieces. We use period-appropriate methods such as hand-tied springs, horsehair or cotton padding and hand-stitched edges, along with fabrics that suit the era. We serve collectors, estate owners and designers across Bergen, Passaic and Essex County and New York City.
Our Restoration Approach
- Careful hand stripping that preserves the frame, carvings and finish
- Documentation of the original construction so it can be rebuilt faithfully
- Eight-way hand-tied springs, jute webbing and burlap
- Horsehair and traditional stuffing, or modern foam if you prefer more comfort
- Frame regluing and joint reinforcement
- Hand-sewn rolled edges, double welting, gimp and decorative nail trim
