Custom framing costs vary based on real variables — frame moulding, mat complexity, glass type, and size — but we can give you honest ranges that let you plan a budget before you walk in the door.

What Determines Your Final Price
📐 Size
The single biggest driver. Larger artwork = more material and labor. Price scales with perimeter (combined width + height), not just one dimension.
🪵 Frame Moulding
Entry-level wood profiles start around $4/ft. Premium carved, wide-profile, or specialty mouldings run $12–$25+/ft. The moulding is often 40–50% of the total cost.
📋 Matting
Single mat adds ~$15–30. Double mat adds ~$25–50. Multi-opening or triple mats add more. Acid-free conservation boards are standard — no upcharge for that.
🔲 Glass / Glazing
Standard glass is baseline. UV-filtering acrylic adds ~$20–60. Non-glare glass adds ~$15–40. Museum glass adds ~$40–120 depending on size. Worth it for anything valuable.
🔨 Labor & Complexity
Shadow boxes, jersey pinning, textile stretching, multi-opening mats, and specialty mounting all add labor. Simple flat artwork in a standard frame costs less than complex assemblies.
