The Custom Framing Process β€” 5 Simple Steps

1

Bring Your Item In

Walk in to our Hasbrouck Heights studio with whatever you want framed β€” a photo, print, diploma, jersey, painting, needlepoint, or anything else. You don't need an appointment for most projects, though calling ahead is always welcome. If your item is too large to transport easily, bring photos and measurements and we'll work from those.

2

We Design It Together

A framer sits down with you at our design counter and walks through your options β€” frame moulding, mat color and style, glass type, and mounting approach. We pull samples and hold them against your artwork so you can see exactly how everything looks together before committing. Most design consultations take 15–30 minutes. We guide you; you make the final call.

3

You Approve the Quote

Once you've chosen your frame, mat, and glass, we give you an exact price before any work starts. No surprises. No upcharges later. If the price isn't where you need it, we'll adjust β€” swap the moulding, simplify the mat, choose a different glass. We work within your budget, not against it. A deposit is collected to confirm the order.

4

We Build It In Our Workshop

Every frame is built by hand in our on-site workshop. We cut the moulding, join the corners, cut the mat, fit the glass, mount your artwork archivally, and assemble the complete frame. Standard turnaround is 7–10 business days. Rush service (2–5 days) is available for most projects β€” let us know your deadline when you drop off.

5

Pick It Up & Hang It

We call or text when your frame is ready. Come pick it up, pay the remaining balance, and take home a finished piece ready to hang. Every frame leaves our shop with hanging hardware installed and a felt bumper on the bottom corners. If you need hanging assistance, we offer professional wall hanging service for Bergen County and the NYC area.

Common Questions Before Your First Visit

Do I need an appointment?

No β€” walk-ins are welcome Tuesday through Friday 11am–6pm and Saturday 10am–3pm. For large or complex projects (oil paintings, shadow boxes, bulk orders), calling ahead helps us give you more time at the design counter.

What should I bring?

Just the item you want framed, or photos and exact measurements if it can't travel. If you have a room photo or fabric swatch, bring that too β€” it helps us pick mat and frame colors that work with your space.

How long until it's ready?

Standard: 7–10 business days. Rush (2–5 days) is available on most projects for an additional fee. We always give you a specific pickup date when you leave your order.

Is my artwork safe with you?

Yes. We handle every piece as if it's irreplaceable β€” because to you it is. Artwork is stored securely in our workshop, handled with care, and mounted using archival methods that don't damage the piece.

Can you frame something oversized?

Yes. We handle large-format prints, panoramic pieces, oversized posters, full hockey jerseys, and artwork up to 48 inches and beyond. Call ahead if your piece is unusually large so we can confirm materials are in stock.

Do you do delivery and installation?

Yes β€” we offer pickup, delivery, and professional wall hanging for Bergen County and the greater NYC area. Great for designers, large pieces, or anyone who doesn't want to deal with the wall themselves.
